**Principal UX Engineer, Ads** **About the Role** Reddit's Ads Design & Research team is seeking a Principal UX Engineer who sees code as a product-design medium. This is a strategic, hands-on role at the intersection of design and engineering where you'll shape product direction and build the tools, systems, and ways of working that move ideas from concept to high-quality product. **What You'll Do** • Define and lead UX engineering strategy across multiple areas of Reddit Ads • Build high-quality, functional prototypes and product experiences • Partner with senior cross-functional leaders to shape product direction • Create reusable tools, systems, components, and workflows • Raise the bar for interaction quality, accessibility, performance, and technical craft • Explore how AI can improve advertiser products and team design processes • Mentor other practitioners and grow UX Engineering capabilities **What We're Looking For** • Deep experience at the intersection of product design and engineering with a track record of building sophisticated interactive products • Strong hands-on expertise with modern frontend technologies (React, TypeScript) • Excellent product and interaction judgment • Experience working across multiple teams and influencing product direction • Strong systems thinking and experience creating reusable patterns • Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring design, engineering, product, and research perspectives together • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Passion for staying hands-on while helping others excel **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 Base Salary: $245,800 – $344,100 USD • Equity (RSUs) and potential commission • Comprehensive healthcare, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with employer match • Flexible vacation and paid volunteer time • Generous paid parental leave • Mental health and coaching benefits • Family planning and gender-affirming care support **Note:** Experience in advertising is helpful but not required.
