**Senior Backend DevOps Engineer (Remote Opportunity)** **About the Role:** VetsEZ is seeking a Senior Backend DevOps Engineer for a 100% remote position supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs' Joint Longitudinal Viewer (JLV) program. JLV is a mission-critical clinical application that aggregates real-time patient data from VA and DoD systems. **Key Responsibilities:** • Operate and optimize Amazon ECS deployments for JLV backend microservices • Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for containerized microservices • Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions aligned with VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) standards • Build monitoring, logging, alerting, and notification systems for backend services • Implement security controls supporting FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and VA compliance • Support multi-region high availability and disaster recovery in AWS GovCloud • Partner with backend engineers, product teams, security teams, and operations personnel • Maintain architecture documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures **Required Qualifications:** • Experience operating containerized microservices on AWS ECS • Proficiency with AWS CLI and production cloud operations • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for enterprise environments • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices and automation frameworks • Working knowledge of FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and government cloud compliance • Experience implementing observability solutions and SRE practices • Strong understanding of AWS networking, IAM, security groups, and disaster recovery • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance or higher **Preferred Qualifications:** • AWS GovCloud environment experience • Familiarity with VA Enterprise Cloud architecture • Healthcare application or clinical viewer platform experience • VA or DoD healthcare systems integration experience **Benefits:** • Medical/Dental/Vision • 401k with Employer Match • PTO + Federal Holidays • Corporate Laptop • Training Opportunities **Location:** Remote (Continental US) VetsEZ is an equal opportunity employer.
