Today, Cash App has grown into a dynamic ecosystem with unique financial products that help customers **send, spend, invest, borrow, and save**. The team is globally distributed and many roles can be done remotely from countries where Cash App operates. ### The Role The **Financial Platform Issuing** team owns the card issuing platform that powers every Block brand, including **Cash App Card**, **Square Card**, and new programs Block launches next. You’ll work across the full card lifecycle: - Issuance, fulfillment, and activation - Real-time transaction authorization and processing across card networks - Digital wallet provisioning - 3-D Secure authentication - Disputes systems When a customer taps their card, the systems decide the outcome in milliseconds—24/7—working with card networks and bank partners. ### What You’ll Do As a software engineer on the **Issuing server engineering** team, you will: - Partner with your team to design, develop, test, ship, and maintain features across card issuance, transaction processing, and disputes - Write high-quality, well-tested code and actively participate in design and code reviews - Design and implement systems for microservice and event-driven architectures with the reliability and correctness required for moving money - Participate in operational ownership of tier-0 financial systems (on-call, incident response, postmortems) - Demonstrate AI fluency by using AI-powered tools throughout the development lifecycle—improving velocity and quality with sound judgment - Hold yourself and teammates to high engineering standards - Learn from and support other engineers through code reviews and technical discussions ### You Have - **3+ years** of software development (or equivalent experience) - Experience building and maintaining production software
