Hybrid work model with 2 core office days per week. **About the Role** Join SimpliSafe's CLV Monitoring Engineering organization to build next-generation monitoring experiences. You'll own backend systems connecting customers to Monitoring Center specialists, from bug fixes to major feature architecture. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead technical design for complex backend features with design docs and architecture decisions • Design and implement backend services in Node.js/TypeScript focused on reliability and scalability • Develop testing strategies for performant, maintainable services • Own services end-to-end from design through production • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams • Act as technical lead, mentoring engineers on best practices **Requirements** • Experience owning complete features or small products independently • Track record resolving ambiguity with product and engineering teams • Demonstrated technical design experience for medium-to-large systems • Strong grasp of distributed systems, API design, and data modeling • Experience building scalable, high-availability production services • Proficiency in modern languages (TypeScript, C#, etc.) • Proficiency in modern NoSQL databases • Strong observability and logging implementation skills • Fluency with modern AI tools (Claude, Cursor) with senior-level judgment • Collaborative mindset with customer focus **Nice-to-Haves** • CI/CD and test automation expertise • Cloud technologies and infrastructure-as-code knowledge • Experience with NestJS, Kafka, Redis, DynamoDB, MongoDB • AI tooling and workflow development **Compensation & Benefits** $117,300 - $156,400 base salary + bonus, equity, comprehensive benefits, free SimpliSafe system, ERGs, and professional development opportunities. **Company Values** Customer Obsessed • Aim High • No Ego • One Team • Lift As We Climb • Lean & Nimble
