**Senior Manager, Endpoint Protections** **About the Role** Lead Elastic's Security Endpoint Protections team, building visibility, prevention, and on-device machine learning capabilities at the core of Elastic Defend. Work across Windows, macOS, and Linux while leading a globally distributed team of senior engineers. This role requires hands-on technical expertise—you'll review designs, write code, and mentor world-class security researchers. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead, mentor, and grow a world-class engineering team across endpoint internals, prevention engineering, and ML • Own the roadmap and drive delivery, balancing efficacy, performance, and stability across millions of endpoints • Connect your team's work to Elastic Security, unlocking new detection and protection capabilities • Direct machine learning work on model development, training data, and telemetry features • Drive cross-platform protection parity across Windows, macOS, and Linux • Represent the team externally at conferences and in the security community **What You Bring** • People-leadership experience managing senior technical contributors on distributed teams • Substantial hands-on security research background: analyzing TTPs, building protections, shipping at scale • Deep OS internals knowledge (kernel and user mode)—Windows depth essential, macOS/Linux valuable • Hands-on reverse engineering and malware analysis experience • Adversarial instinct and ability to anticipate protection evasion • Clear communication skills for technical and executive audiences • Thrives in distributed, autonomous environments • Experience with AI-assisted development tools **Bonus Points** • Prior EDR, EPP, or endpoint security product ownership • Published research, vulnerabilities, patents, or conference talks • Experience leading ML engineers on security problems • Conference speaking (Black Hat, DEF CON, CODE BLUE, Virus Bulletin) • Familiarity with Elastic Stack and Elastic Security **Why Join Elastic** Competitive pay, health coverage, flexible work arrangements, generous PTO, volunteer time (up to 40 hrs/year), parental leave (16+ weeks), and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
