**Manager, Software Engineering - Data Platform** **About the Role** Figma is seeking a Manager to lead engineers across the Data Platform team through their next phase of scale. You'll set technical direction, grow the team, and partner broadly across the company. This is a full-time role available in US hubs or remote within the United States. **What You'll Do** • Lead and grow a team of engineers building and operating Figma's data platform, owning delivery, technical direction, and team health • Set the roadmap and technical strategy for your sub area with hands-on technical leadership • Drive reliability, scalability, and forward strategy as adoption grows across engineering and product • Hire, grow, and coach engineers and tech leads to build a healthy, inclusive, high-performing team • Partner with Data Science, Product, Finance, and Engineering to identify high-leverage priorities • Make sound build versus buy decisions and manage platform vendors • Balance near-term execution with long-term platform investment **What We're Looking For** • 3+ years managing engineers (senior ICs or tech leads) with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams • Demonstrated experience building and scaling data platform or data infrastructure systems in production • Strong software engineering background with senior/staff-level technical depth before management • Strong partnership mentality and ability to manage multiple cross-functional stakeholders • Ability to set technical direction, drive alignment, and prioritize under ambiguity with strong written communication **Nice to Have** • Expertise in large-scale data processing systems (batch, streaming, AI/ML workloads) • Familiarity with experimentation or feature flagging platforms • Track record of evaluating and managing vendor relationships • Demonstrated ability to develop tech leads and scale hiring **Compensation & Benefits** Annual Base Salary: $258,000 – $376,000 USD Figma offers equity, health/dental/vision coverage, retirement benefits, parental leave, mental health support, and paid time off.
