Backed by Onex Partners and led by a forward-thinking management team, ISC combines insurance and technology to create an Insurtech powerhouse. **Job Summary** ISC Cybersecurity is seeking a senior, hands-on defender to build a detection and response function responsible for defensive security operations across enterprise and AWS environments. Reporting to the CISO, you'll partner with security engineering, MSSP, and MDR providers to drive detection engineering, advanced investigation, incident ownership, threat hunting, and capability maturation. **Key Responsibilities** • **Incident Response & Investigation** – Conduct incident response for escalated alerts, perform forensic review, and provide clear findings to stakeholders • **Threat Hunting** – Conduct hypothesis-driven hunts to identify malicious activity and develop internal hunting methodologies • **Detection Quality** – Review escalations for quality, identify coverage gaps, and drive MTTD/MTTC metrics • **Escalation Ownership** – Serve as technical escalation point and coordinate cross-functional responders • **Operational Leadership** – Report to CISO, maintain runbooks, and translate attacker patterns into defensive playbooks **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience • 7+ years hands-on cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat detection • Complex investigation experience with cloud, identity systems, and modern endpoint tooling • Strong familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, log analysis, and correlation techniques • Digital forensics fundamentals and AWS/Azure security log analysis • Excellent written and verbal communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** • Experience with managed SOC/MDR providers • Threat hunting in cloud-first or hybrid environments • SIEM/SOAR platform exposure • Incident response or forensics certifications (GCIH, GCFA, GNFA, GCFE) **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 **$160,000 – $200,000 USD** + Bonus ✓ Employee Ownership Program ✓ Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance ✓ 401(k) with Company Match ✓ Professional Development ✓ Work-from-Home Reimbursement ✓ 11 Paid Holidays + Additional PTO ✓ HSA with Company Contribution ✓ Life/AD&D Insurance & EAP **Equal Opportunity Employer** – All qualified applicants considered without regard to protected characteristics.
