Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. **About the Team** The Abuse Research Group (ARG) is dedicated to proactively hunting for emerging abuse vectors and studying complex attacker behaviors. The team maps complete abuse paths across Stripe products and external systems, translating deep research into actionable threat advisories and strategic control recommendations. **What You'll Do** • Lead a team of threat intelligence analysts, fraud researchers, and detection engineers • Set the research agenda across threat actor tracking, fraud investigation, and merchant ecosystem defense • Provide technical depth on complex investigations including API key takeovers and account compromise campaigns • Operationalize research findings into production-level detection rules and automated response mechanisms • Collaborate with Risk, Trust & Safety, Fraud Platform, and Security Engineering teams • Coordinate with external stakeholders including law enforcement on high-impact threat actors • Coach and mentor individual contributors on career development **Minimum Requirements** • 10+ years leading security engineering or research teams with track record managing technical ICs • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent security experience) • Experience recruiting, growing, and leading technical teams • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Familiarity with fraud and abuse patterns in payments and fintech • Hands-on threat intelligence tradecraft: OSINT, dark web collection, actor attribution • Strong understanding of threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) **Preferred Qualifications** • Background in security research, threat intelligence, or fraud detection engineering • Technical fluency across threat intelligence, fraud signal development, and detection engineering • Experience managing technical research teams with investigative, ambiguous work
