**ML Engineer, Foundation Model Recipes** **About the Role** Waymo's AI Foundations team is seeking an ML Engineer to develop machine learning solutions for autonomous driving. You'll work on cutting-edge research in robotics and ML, partnering across organizations to advance foundation models and embodied AI agents. **What You'll Do** • Develop and extend research in robotics and machine learning for embodied AI agents • Partner within and across organizations to deploy innovative tech in production • Work with state-of-the-art Foundation Models • Drive model development via data, evaluation, and systems • Implement and extend large-scale data and evaluation pipelines **Required Qualifications** • Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience • Proficiency in Python • Familiarity with modern deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow) • Prior work in industrial or research settings developing ML model recipes **Preferred Qualifications** • Publications in top-tier conferences or leading open source projects • Strong hands-on software engineering skills for distributed pipelines • Experience in AV planning and related research • Experience in data labeling and curation for ML evaluation and training **Compensation** Salary Range: $175,000–$215,000 USD Eligible for annual bonus, equity incentive plan, and company benefits. **Work Arrangement** Hybrid role reporting to a Senior Research Scientist
