**Lead Software Engineer, Application Software (Finance)** **About the Role** Join SpaceX's finance software team—the central nervous system of our financial operations. You'll lead a team of skilled engineers while building and maintaining mission-critical applications that power our finance department. Own challenging problems end-to-end, from core financial platforms to integrations across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and beyond. **Key Responsibilities** • Directly manage a team of software engineers • Own system roadmap prioritization, implementation, and delivery • Provide strong technical leadership with focus on continuous improvement • Develop highly reliable and available software systems • Collaborate across departments to ensure SpaceX's success **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Science + 3+ years software development experience (OR 6+ years professional experience without degree) • 1+ years object-oriented programming experience • 1+ years leading software teams or projects **Preferred Skills** • Python, C#, .NET, Go, Java, or similar OOP language • Angular, React, or similar JavaScript framework • PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar databases • 4+ years building single page web applications • ERP, accounting, or financial planning system experience • Financial data integrity, auditability, and access controls (SOX-aware systems a plus) • Strong mentoring and collaboration abilities **Compensation** $165,000 - $265,000 base salary, plus stock options, bonuses, comprehensive benefits, 401(k), and 3+ weeks paid vacation. **Requirements** • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed • Must be willing to travel when needed • ITAR eligible: U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee, or asylee status required **Equal Opportunity Employer** | Aerospace experience not required—we seek smart, motivated engineers ready to make an impact.
