**Senior Quality Test Engineer** **About the Company** Torc is a leader in autonomous driving technology since 2007, now part of the Daimler family. We develop software for automated trucks to transform freight transportation. **The Role** Support testing of autonomous vehicles and software development activities. Generate and execute vehicle test plans, analyze test data, design strategic test progression, and support full-lifecycle development of proprietary software solutions. Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure robust, safety-focused testing. **Key Responsibilities** *Vehicle Software Testing* • Generate and execute test plans to uncover system limitations • Perform root cause analysis of defects and performance issues • Design and deploy instrumentation to capture test data • Analyze test data and generate performance reports • Maintain verification and validation reports • Work with software teams on performance metrics and component tests • Provide detailed defect reports to engineering teams • Perform on-road testing as observer/annotator • Travel domestically/internationally up to 25% for vehicle testing *Software Engineering* • Execute full software development lifecycle using C++ and scripting in Linux • Complete design, implementation, unit testing, and vehicle testing • Assist in root cause analysis of testing issues • Support test plans and verification strategies • Design data acquisition and analysis systems for field vehicles • Ensure software updates don't regress performance **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's in Computer/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field + 6+ years experience, OR • Master's degree + 3+ years experience, OR • Doctorate + 1+ years experience • Working-level experience in transportation, engineering, or safety technology • Experience testing hardware/software integrated systems • Linux development experience (Ubuntu, CentOS) • Programming knowledge: Modern C++, Python, Bash, REST APIs • Complex system troubleshooting skills • Git version control experience • CI/CD and DevOps knowledge (Jenkins) • Automation and configuration management principles
