**Software Engineering Manager II - Security & Lifecycle** **About Latitude AI** Latitude AI develops automated driving technologies, including L3, for Ford vehicles at scale. As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, MI and Palo Alto, CA. **The Team** The Security & Lifecycle team owns the platform's ability to manage device lifecycle end to end—from manufacturing and provisioning cryptographic keys, through safe field updates, to eventual retirement. The team manages nonvolatile memory and storage infrastructure, low-level storage drivers, and memory allocation across the platform. **What You'll Do** • Lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for nonvolatile memory management, software update workflows, storage drivers, and platform security • Set technical direction for software update packaging, validation, and safe field application • Guide design and maintenance of low-level storage drivers and memory management strategies • Own the platform memory map, allocating space across memory units for all consuming teams • Oversee trusted firmware implementation and full key lifecycle (provisioning, rotation, revocation) • Direct manufacturing image creation and provisioning tooling development • Partner with systems safety and security engineering on automotive requirements • Work with silicon and tooling partners on low-level integration issues • Manage hiring, performance, and career development **What You'll Need** • Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, CS, EE, Robotics or related field + 7+ years relevant experience (or Master's + 5+ years, or PhD + 2+ years) • Strong hands-on C++ embedded systems software development experience • 2+ years engineering management or technical leadership experience • Deep knowledge of nonvolatile memory technologies and low-level storage driver development • Experience with software update systems (packaging, validation, rollout/rollback) • Experience with trusted firmware (e.g., ARM Trusted Firmware) and secure boot • Cryptographic key management experience in embedded systems • Strong low-level systems programming knowledge (memory layout, linker scripts, bootloaders) • Familiarity with safety-critical software practices (ISO 26262 or similar) • Team management experience including hiring and performance management **Nice to Have** • Manufacturing provisioning tooling and image creation experience • Memory map allocation across multiple storage units • Hardware security modules (HSMs) or secure elements experience • A/B or dual-bank update schemes • Autonomous driving or ADAS software experience • Bazel build system experience **What We Offer** Competitive compensation, comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA with employer match, 401(k) with immediate vesting, paid parental and medical leave, unlimited vacation, 15 paid holidays, daily lunches and snacks, wellness stipend, professional development reimbursement, employee assistance program, and more. **Compensation** Expected base salary range for California: $218,240 - $327,360 USD.
