**Senior Software Engineering Manager - RTOS** **About Latitude AI** Latitude AI (lat.ai) develops automated driving technologies, including L3, for Ford vehicles at scale. As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, MI and Palo Alto, CA. **The Team** The RTOS team builds and maintains the real-time operating system foundation that every safety-critical software component on the vehicle's compute platform depends on. This includes core build systems, memory protection, fault handling, and runtime APIs that enable safe embedded code. **What You'll Do** • Lead and grow a team of senior and staff embedded systems engineers • Set technical direction for scheduling policy, memory protection, and fault handling • Guide design of C++ runtime APIs and primitives for safe memory allocation • Own RTOS-level isolation across cores, including MPU configuration • Design cross-core synchronization primitives and multicore scheduling • Oversee boot sequence, secure boot integration, and watchdog strategies • Partner with systems safety and hardware teams on functional safety requirements • Drive coding standards, static analysis, and instrumentation practices • Manage hiring, performance, and career development **What You'll Need** • Bachelor's (10+ yrs), Master's (8+ yrs), or PhD (5+ yrs) in Computer Engineering, CS, EE, Robotics, or related field • Significant embedded systems/RTOS development experience with technical leadership background • Deep knowledge of real-time scheduling, memory protection (MPU/MMU), and C/C++ systems programming • Experience with multicore RTOS architectures and inter-core communication • Familiarity with automotive safety-critical development (ISO 26262, DO-178C, etc.) • Strong team management and cross-functional communication skills **Nice to Have** • MISRA C++ coding standards familiarity • Autonomous driving or ADAS software experience • Bazel build system expertise **Benefits** Competitive compensation, comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid parental and medical leave, unlimited vacation, 15 paid holidays, daily lunches and snacks, wellness stipend, professional development reimbursement, and more.
