## Cybersecurity Internship - Spring 2027 ### About Varda Varda is accelerating the development of commercial space infrastructure, from in-orbit pharmaceutical processing to reliable and economical reentry capsules. We're building a bustling in-space ecosystem with leadership and staff from SpaceX, Blue Origin, major pharmaceutical companies, and Silicon Valley. **Headquarters:** El Segundo, CA | **Additional Offices:** Washington, DC and Huntsville, AL ### About This Role **Duration:** January - May (full-time, on-site in El Segundo, CA) **Requirement:** Must be actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program Join our Information Security team for real, meaningful work. You'll monitor security alerts, write clear reports, and help prepare for our cybersecurity certification audit—not busywork. ### Key Responsibilities - Review and document daily security alerts - Configure and optimize security tools (Zscaler, CrowdStrike, ThreatLocker, Darktrace, AlienVault) - Maintain security event logs and audit trails - Organize sample logs for auditor review - Track reports from external security partners - Upload compliance documentation - Lead one independent summer project (logging gaps analysis, incident response guide, dashboard, etc.) ### What You'll Learn - Day-to-day information security operations and audit preparation - Hands-on experience with enterprise security tools - How alerts and logs translate into audit evidence - Technical writing for non-technical audiences - Cross-functional security team collaboration ### Requirements - Current undergrad in cybersecurity, computer science, IT, or related field - Knowledge of 2+ areas: networking, operating systems, identity management, incident response, or security monitoring - Comfortable reading logs and working with spreadsheets - Clear writing skills - Organized, detail-oriented, and inquisitive - Authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship) ### Nice to Have - CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification in progress - Home lab or CTF experience - Familiarity with listed security tools or platforms (Okta, Vanta) - Knowledge of NIST 800-171/53, ISO 27001, or CMMC - Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting ### Compensation & Benefits - **Hourly Rate:** $33.00 - **Housing Stipend** for relocating interns - **Commuter Benefit** for local transportation - Flexible PTO + 12 paid holidays - Health & wellness benefits (subset available to interns)
