**Sr. Engineering Manager - Pendo for Agents** **The Team + The Role** Lead Pendo's AI and agent product area as Senior Manager, Engineering. Own technical direction end-to-end and be fully accountable for delivery, engineering quality, and talent pipeline. Partner with Product, Design, and Staff/Principal engineers on high-quality architecture decisions. **What You'll Do** • **Team Leadership** – Lead ~4 engineers today, scaling to two teams. Support onboarding, professional development, and growth of ICs and emerging technical leaders. • **Architecture Ownership** – Own technical direction for Pendo for Agents end-to-end. Partner on build-vs-buy decisions and framework selection. • **Delivery Execution** – Guide prioritization, planning, and execution while maintaining healthy delivery cadence across sprints and quarterly cycles. • **Cross-Functional Partnership** – Work with Product and Design using Agile practices. Align on scope, sequencing, and risk while surfacing constraints early. • **Player-Coach Leadership** – Stay hands-on in architecture and technical problem-solving while coaching and growing the team. • **AI-Enabled Operations** – Use AI tools for retro synthesis, incident analysis, documentation, and onboarding as standard workflow. • **Hiring & Talent Planning** – Own headcount planning and partner on sourcing, interview calibration, offers, and candidate closing. • **Team Culture** – Build a culture of ownership, psychological safety, and continuous improvement. **Must-Haves** • 5+ years engineering experience; 2+ years in direct people management • Hands-on architecture experience with LLM/agent systems (RAG, tool-calling, orchestration) • Greenfield or early-stage product delivery experience • Track record managing delivery commitments across teams • Strong build-vs-buy judgment in AI tooling landscape • Technical foundation in front-end (React, Angular, Vue) or back-end (Go, Python, Java, Ruby, C#) • Cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Product, Design • Technical hiring experience **Nice-to-Haves** • Cloud-native application experience • 0-to-1 AI/agent product shipping experience • Hands-on modern AI/LLM/agent tooling fluency • Experience leading teams using AI developer tools (Copilot, Cursor) **About Pendo** Founded 2013.
