**Sr. Software Engineer - Backend** **Position ID:** P-1591 **About the Role:** Join Databricks' AI Platform team to build infrastructure powering data apps, AI agents, model training, model serving, and vector search. You'll work on a high-agency, high-visibility team at the frontier of AI infrastructure with deep ties to research, product, and enterprise use cases. **Impact You'll Have:** • Build infrastructure for MLflow, AI Gateway, Databricks Apps, Agent Framework, and Foundation Model APIs • Improve reliability, latency, and efficiency of distributed AI workloads • Collaborate with platform, infra, and ML teams for seamless end-to-end experiences • Shape how developers and data scientists build and interact with AI on Databricks **What We're Looking For:** • 5+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience • Strong programming skills in **Scala, Go, or Python** • Experience with distributed systems, scalable APIs, or cloud-native infrastructure • Familiarity with service-oriented architecture, deployment pipelines, and system observability • Strong product and ownership mindset **Bonus Points:** • Experience with real-time serving, ML infrastructure, or GPU orchestration • Exposure to SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Azure ML • OSS contributions to MLflow, PyTorch, or Ray • Experience building developer platforms or AI workflow tools **Compensation:** $165,300 — $219,675 USD (plus performance bonus, equity, and benefits) **About Databricks:** The Data and AI company trusted by 20,000+ organizations worldwide, including 70% of the Fortune 500.
