**Senior Application Security Engineer** **About the Role** Counterpart Health is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to join the Eng Core team. This is a hands-on offensive security role focused on identifying and closing vulnerabilities in Counterpart Assistant, a tool used by thousands of healthcare practitioners during live patient visits. **Key Responsibilities** • Hunt for and close security vulnerabilities across the core product using custom tools and scripts • Harden systems, services, and endpoints; establish strong security monitoring • Safeguard PHI and monitor deidentification practices • Leverage AI as a force multiplier for vulnerability discovery with appropriate guardrails • Review critical pull requests, conduct security training, and mentor engineers • Partner with SRE, engineering leadership, and corporate security teams • Strengthen resilience and ensure disaster recovery capabilities **Required Qualifications** • 8+ years in software engineering with 4+ years focused on application security, vulnerability research, and penetration testing • Demonstrated ability to identify vulnerabilities using custom tooling • Experience using AI tools and frameworks for vulnerability discovery • Proficiency writing code across the full stack in multiple programming languages • Track record of mentoring engineers in security practices • Understanding of healthcare security and patient care implications **Benefits** • Competitive base salary ($134,600–$175,000 USD) + equity and performance bonus • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage • No-Meeting Fridays, flexible time-off, mental health resources • Professional development funding and mentorship • Remote-first culture, ESPP, paid parental leave **Location:** Remote
