Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. **About the Team** Data Quality and Governance owns the infrastructure that makes Stripe's data trustworthy and findable—including the Data Catalog, Knowledge Graph Service, dataset tiering, governance standards, lineage tracking, and quality scoring system (DQPD). **What You'll Do** • Lead technical outcomes for a team of engineers with mentorship and guidance • Build and operate large-scale data discovery, metadata, and catalog platforms • Develop expertise and manage SLAs for data pipelines and full-stack web applications • Collaborate across the company to create canonical datasets and ensure trustworthy data usage • Leverage AI/LLM and Agents to analyze high-quality data on complex problems • Drive execution of key data initiatives from planning through delivery • Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment **Minimum Requirements** • 10+ years building and operating data systems, pipelines, warehouses, and infrastructure • Strong distributed systems fundamentals • Experience debugging data inconsistencies and resolving data quality issues • Backend development language (Scala, Java, Go) and strong SQL skills • Customer focus and cross-functional collaboration abilities • Thrive with high autonomy in ambiguous environments • Ability to foster healthy, inclusive, and supportive work culture **Preferred Qualifications** • Experience with Iceberg, Kafka, CDC, Flink, Spark, Airflow, Hive Metastore, Pinot, Trino, AWS • Open-source contributions • Data mart/warehouse creation and maintenance • Product, Go-To-Market, or Sales/Marketing collaboration • Strong written and verbal communication skills
