Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. **About the Team** We build the canonical data foundation powering decision-making across Finance & Strategy, Business Data Science, GTM, and Marketing. We engineer scalable data pipelines and provide curated data products that give Stripe teams a consistent, accurate view of the business. We collaborate with AI, Data Science, and Business Systems teams to deliver high-quality data assets. **What You'll Do** • Lead technical outcomes for a team of engineers, providing mentorship and support • Partner with recruiting to attract top talent • Deliver cutting-edge, scalable data pipelines focused on reliability and efficiency • Develop expertise and manage SLAs for data pipelines and applications supporting critical stakeholders • Collaborate across the company to create/improve canonical datasets and data warehouses • Leverage AI/LLM and Agents to produce and analyze high-quality data • Drive execution of key data initiatives from planning to delivery • Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment promoting innovation and continuous improvement **Minimum Requirements** • 10+ years building and operating data systems, pipelines, warehouses, and leading teams • Strong engineering background with experience writing and debugging data pipelines using distributed frameworks • Ability to investigate data inconsistencies and resolve data quality issues • Backend development language knowledge (Scala, Java, Go) and strong SQL skills • Customer focus and commitment to understanding use cases across the business • Effective cross-functional collaboration with clear communication and decision-making ability • Thrive with high autonomy in ambiguous environments • Foster healthy, inclusive, and supportive work environments **Preferred Qualifications** • Experience with Iceberg, Kafka, CDC, Flink, Spark, Airflow, Hive Metastore, Pinot, Trino, or AWS • Open-source contributions • Experience creating and maintaining data marts/warehouses for business reporting • Collaboration with Product, GTM, Sales, or Marketing teams • Strong written and verbal communication skills for various audiences
