About this role

## Staff Software Engineer — Full Stack ### About the Role A Place for Mom is building the next generation of intelligent, scalable platforms that connect families, providers, and advisors through AI-driven experiences. You’ll help build and scale the platform that B2B partners use to run their business. You’ll work across the full stack: - **React / TypeScript** experiences in **Grace** - **.NET** services behind a unified API layer - **Python** ingestion pipelines that pull provider data from **NPPES**, state licensing boards, and other sources into **Databricks** This role expects you to treat **LLMs as a first-class part of the job**—using agentic coding tools fluently and building LLM capabilities into the product where they create real leverage (e.g., extraction/normalization at scale, entity resolution, classification, and workflow automation). You’ll report to the **Senior Engineering Manager — B2B Platform** and provide technical direction to engineers building systems partners depend on daily. ### What You’ll Do - Design, build, and continuously deploy features across the stack (React/TypeScript, .NET APIs/services, and supporting data pipelines) - Build partner-facing experiences in Grace to make referral management, community profiles, and reporting easier for agency users - Use **AI coding agents** as a core workflow: scope agent work, review/harden outputs, and build reliable context/prompt/tooling - Apply **LLMs** to product and data problems where they outperform rules (extraction, classification, matching, summarization) with **evaluation harnesses and guardrails** - Collaborate on cloud-native, service-oriented components and APIs - Champion quality engineering practices to enable continuous deployment (linting, unit/integration/e2e testing, pipeline automation) - Peer review code, suggest optimizations, and create reference implementations - Define and mentor best practices for adopting and governing AI tooling - Investigate and resolve production issues end to end (UI → services → data) and prevent recurrence - Partner with product and project managers to deliver on time and at high quality; keep technical documentation current ### Who You Are - Hands-on, outcome-oriented engineer who can own problems from **database to browser** - Strategic technical leader with experience designing, building, and supporting **production systems** - Energized by messy, real-world data problems and **B2B workflows** (users are business partners, not consumers) - Comfortable rewiring how you work with AI tooling—and helping the team do the same - Strong communicator who partners closely with product and design, tying technology decisions to business outcomes ### Qualifications - **10+ years** of software engineering experience, with depth across both sides of the stack - Strong front-end skills: **React, TypeScript**, component architecture, state management, testing, and design system adoption - Strong back-end/API skills in a modern server-side language, plus relational data modeling and **SQL** - Working proficiency in **Python** for ingestion, transformation, and automation - Demonstrated proficiency with **AI-assisted / agentic development workflows** (e.g., Claude Code or similar), including tool integrations (e.g., MCP) and AI-assisted code review - Practical experience building **LLM-backed features** (prompt design, retrieval/context strategy, structured output, cost/latency management, and systematic evaluation) - Exp
