## Flipper — Head of Production Test Engineering Hi! We’re the Flipper team—creators of **Flipper Zero** (https://flipper.net/). We’re building new products like: - **Flipper One**: a full-featured ARM-based computer running Linux (https://blog.flipper.net/flipper-one-we-need-your-help/) - **BUSY Bar**: a smart productivity multi-tool (https://busy.app) We’re looking for a **Head of Production Test Engineering** to lead the team responsible for **production testing** of our physical devices. You’ll ensure tests, equipment, software, and instructions are ready for **new product launches** and **mass production**. --- ### Responsibilities - Build and maintain a unified **production testing roadmap** for new products, launches, mass production support, and infrastructure improvements (priorities, timelines, owners, resources). - Lead the engineering team: **allocate resources**, develop capabilities, and balance urgent production issues with planned work. - Coordinate dependencies across **hardware, firmware, manufacturing**, and other teams—identify risks/blockers early. - Define production testing **strategies and acceptance criteria**; oversee development/maintenance of **test fixtures, equipment, software, and infrastructure** (including for Flipper One). - Coordinate **test deployment at factories**, keep instructions up to date, monitor test results, and work with teams to identify root causes and validate fixes. - Analyze production test data, returns, and support cases to turn recurring defects into improvements to the product, manufacturing process, or testing. --- ### Requirements - Hands-on experience with **electronics production testing** and strong understanding of the product lifecycle (prototype → mass production). - Strong technical foundation: ability to read/develop **schematics**, use measurement equipment, **solder**, and troubleshoot interactions between electronics, firmware, and test software. - Hands-on experience developing/implementing **automated tests** and production test fixtures; strong **Linux and Python** skills (including **pytest**). - Experience leading an engineering team: planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and people development. - Experience managing cross-team dependencies and working directly with **factories** on technical requirements, production changes, and issue resolution. - English proficiency for calls, written communication, and technical documentation. --- ### Nice-to-haves - Experience launching production on-site in **China** and working directly with Chinese factories. - Confident use of **AI tools** for rapid prototyping. --- ### What we offer - Choose your work format: **office, hybrid, or fully remote** from anywhere in the world. - Necessary equipment provided for a comfortable setup. - Benefits: **VHI**, corporate sports, foreign language courses, and therapy sessions. - **Five-day workweek** with a flexible start time.
