## Flashpoint — Engineering Lead II Flashpoint is looking for an **Engineering Lead II** to take technical ownership of **Echosec**, **Strategic Entity Data (SED)**, and **Identify**. This is a small, senior, high-trust team that ships fast across a **Laravel platform**, a **Python AI service**, and a **data pipeline** ingesting sensitive breach and leak data. ### What you’ll do - Own the **technical direction** of three product surfaces (**Echosec, SED, Identify**) and the architecture connecting them - Lead **Echosec**, a mature **Laravel** application running on **Kubernetes** - Take the **AI layer** further (Python service for natural-language search, summarization, and agentic reporting) - Own the **Strategic Entity Data API** and ingestion pipeline, including decisions on **cost, scale, and data quality** - Partner directly with the **Product Manager** and collaborate across Flashpoint (SRE, Platform, Data, Intel) - Grow a team of **senior engineers** and own career paths, promotions, and performance - Represent the team in key decision forums (KPI reviews, commitment reviews, cross-team architecture) ### What you’ll achieve - **Within 30 days:** build team relationships, understand the customer request flow, and share an initial assessment of what’s working - **Within 60 days:** establish the team’s operating rhythm and a clear decision split + next-quarter roadmap with Product - **By 90 days:** set the technical direction for Echosec/SED/Identify, run the quarterly commitment cycle, and become the first technical call for this area ### What we’re looking for - Led a team of **5–8 engineers** end-to-end for a customer-facing product (roadmap, architecture, on-call) - Production experience on **AWS, GCP, or Azure** - Experience inheriting a mature application and making it **measurably safer to change** (without unnecessary rewrites) - Owned a quarterly commitment cycle end-to-end (scoping, publishing dates, early risk flagging) - Treat growth and retention as part of the job - Close enough to the code to earn credibility, but disciplined enough not to become the bottleneck ### Required experience - Managing engineers as a direct manager (performance, career development, promotions, hiring) - Production experience with a mature server-side web application at scale (**PHP/Laravel preferred**, or comparable framework depth) - Hands-on experience running services on **Kubernetes** with managed **Postgres** and **Redis** in a public cloud - Production reliability ownership (on-call rotations, incident command, post-incident reviews, and closing action items) ### Compensation - **Base Pay Range:** **$145,800–$180,000** per year, plus **target bonus** ### Why Flashpoint - **Diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity** - Culture built and shaped by employees - Wellness perks (gym reimbursements, expensed lunches, inclusive events) - Career growth with regular feedback, learning opportunities, and defined career paths **Apply / Learn more:** https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/flashpoint.io/form/talent-network
