We take pride in our craft—building reliable, performant, and scalable solutions that touch every part of the business. ## What you’ll do - With the support of your team’s tech lead and manager, break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery. - Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs. - Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” and on-call efforts. - Contribute to team community through growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process. ## What we look for - 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer. - Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems; proficient in **Python or Kotlin**. - Familiarity with distributed systems building blocks and technologies like **AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes**. - Ability to turn a simple problem/business scenario into a solution that spans multiple software components—writing clear, well-tested, extensible code. - Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others’ code, and providing feedback through code reviews. - Demonstrated ownership of growth—proactively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders. - Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team. - Requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. ## Compensation & Grade (highlights) - **Base Pay Grade:** L - **Equity Grade:** 6 - **USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT):** $165,000 – $225,000 USD / year - **USA base pay range (all other U.S. states):** $146,000 – $206,000 USD / year ## Remote-first & Benefits - **Remote-first with flexibility:** Most roles can be done from almost anywhere within the country of employment.
