As a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company, we own and operate each layer of the stack—from electrons to tokens—to power the world’s most ambitious AI workloads. ### About the Role We’re hiring a **Staff Systems Engineer, Microsoft Infrastructure** to own Crusoe’s **corporate IT infrastructure end to end**—including: - Servers - Virtualization - Storage - Networking - Cloud platforms This is a **hands-on individual contributor** role. You’ll personally build, migrate, and support servers, and serve as the **escalation owner** when infrastructure breaks. At the staff level, you’ll also set direction by owning the infrastructure roadmap, prioritizing across projects, and partnering with business stakeholders to understand requirements before building. You’ll tackle challenging problems such as migrating specialized applications (e.g., manufacturing software with licensing tied to physical hardware) from **on-prem** to **cloud**, even when vendors never designed them for it. ### What You’ll Be Working On - Manage and modernize **Windows Server** environments, including: - Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, certificate services, and file infrastructure - Across **Hyper-V, VMware, and bare-metal** systems - Drive **on-prem to multi-cloud** server migrations (**Azure, GCP, AWS**), navigating dependencies, vendor licensing constraints, and legacy workloads - Architect and operate core **compute, storage, and server networking** resources; collaborate with Network Engineering on site connectivity and deployments - Deploy **Azure Arc** to standardize governance, security policies, and operational monitoring across hybrid server environments - Design and maintain **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** using **Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates** for auditable, version-controlled automation - Oversee **Microsoft 365** and **Entra ID** tenant health: - Secure access via **Conditional Access** and **MFA** - Manage **Okta identity federation** - Lead **system monitoring, backups, disaster recovery**, and **incident response**; act as primary escalation during on-call rotations - Perform hands-on physical server deployment (racking, cabling, provisioning) at corporate offices, data centers, and manufacturing facilities (occasional travel required) - Establish infrastructure roadmaps and technical standards while ensuring compliance with **SOC 2** and **SOX** controls - Provide technical mentorship to junior IT systems team members; produce architecture diagrams and runbooks ### What You’ll Bring to the Team - **10+ years** of hands-on infrastructure experience, including day-to-day ownership of **Windows Server** environments on current versions - Proven experience migrating production servers and applications from **on-prem to cloud**, including troubleshooting dependencies and licensing issues - Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (**GCP, Azure, or AWS**) at the level needed to build, network, and run virtual servers (experience across more than one is a plus) - Strong foundations in **storage, virtualization, and networking** for server workloads - IaC experience you’ve written yourself (**Terraform, Bicep, or ARM**) plus **PowerShell** or CLI scripting for automation - **Entra ID** and **Microsoft 365** administration; experience integrating Entra with
