About this role

## Front-End Developer (Fully Remote - US) ### About Edconic Edconic is a leading player in the alternative, experiential education space. We partner with the world’s largest and most well-known brands to create and run schools that capture the legacy and value of each brand—delivering truly unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for students. ### The Role Join our web team as one of two Front-End Developers. You’ll work closely with our lead developer, designers, IT, and MarTech to build solutions that meet real business needs while protecting each brand’s unique identity. The codebase is actively moving toward a modern, standardized WordPress stack. ### What You’ll Do - Build and maintain public-facing websites, micro-sites, and landing pages in collaboration with the lead developer, IT, and MarTech. - Partner with UX/UI designers to confirm technical feasibility, then translate designs into polished, responsive pages. - Build and maintain custom WordPress themes across two stacks: - Modern block-based builds (ACF Blocks, core blocks, block patterns, theme.json) - Established classic themes (PHP templates, Advanced Custom Fields, Sass) - Help shape team coding standards, tooling, and workflow, and support migration toward the modern stack. - Stay current on emerging web standards and bring ideas where they genuinely fit. ### What You Bring - 4+ years of front-end web development experience. - Strong skills in semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress. - Ability to build custom WordPress themes from scratch using PHP templates and Advanced Custom Fields. - Strong CSS skills (Sass and modern native CSS such as custom properties and nesting) plus solid vanilla JavaScript. - Comfort with Git/GitHub (PRs + code reviews) and npm-based build tools/command line. - Strong accessibility fundamentals and attention to reuse, cross-browser compatibility, performance, and SEO. - Experience building and testing HTML emails. - Strong UX/UI sensibilities and a desire to sweat the small stuff. - Proactive, self-directed working style. - Excellent written and verbal communication. ### Bonus Experience (Nice to Have) - Modern WordPress block development (ACF Blocks, block.json, theme.json, block patterns). - Composer/Roots tooling (Sage/Blade, Trellis), Vite, and/or CI/CD with GitHub Actions. - Deeper accessibility experience (WCAG, ARIA, assistive-technology testing). - CRM/marketing automation integration (Salesforce, Pardot/Account Engagement). - Multilingual WordPress sites. - Modern JS frameworks (React or Vue). - UX/UI design experience and tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite). ### AI Use in the Workflow AI-assisted development is part of the workflow. You may use AI tools to speed up research, scaffolding, review, and routine work—but AI is not a substitute for expertise. You must be able to write, review, debug, and explain production code entirely on your own (expect to demonstrate this during the interview). ### Location, Travel & Eligibility - Fully remote within the United States. - Occasional travel to the New York office may be required. - Must be legally authorized to work in the US. - Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience is welcome. ### Compensation - Salary range: **$85,000–$100,000** ### Commitment & Accommodations Edconic supports diversity and inclusiveness and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if you don’t meet every requirement. Reasonable accommodations are ava
