**Staff Software Engineer, Frontend/Mobile (Consumer - Agentic Trading)** Ready to do the most impactful work of your career? Coinbase is remote-first (but not remote-only) and hires people who refuse to settle for “good enough.” You’ll join the Consumer Agentic Finance team, building a trusted financial agent that watches a user’s money and markets, answers portfolio questions, and trades on their behalf. As the team’s **frontend technical lead**, you’ll set the direction for the interfaces that bring the agent to users across **mobile and web**. --- ### What you’ll do - Own **frontend experiences** for the user’s agent end-to-end across **mobile and web** (conversational interface, trading ideas, and app entry points). - Build **real-time, streaming interfaces** for AI-driven advice, one-tap trade approvals, and autonomous execution—keeping the agent’s reasoning legible. - Set **frontend architecture and technical direction** across agentic surfaces (streaming state, real-time market data, conversational UX), and raise the bar via design reviews, standards, and mentorship. - Shape agent behavior through **prompt engineering, evals, and conversation analysis**. - Partner with **design, backend engineering, and the registered investment adviser** to ship features within regulatory guardrails. --- ### Required Skills and Experience - **8+ years** shipping consumer-facing products at scale. - Expert mobile experience with **React Native** and **native iOS (Swift)** or **Android (Kotlin)** (experience across both is a plus), plus **TypeScript** and **React**. - Demonstrated technical leadership of frontend architecture across multiple product areas/platforms (state management, API integration patterns, performance improvements that measurably improved latency or reliability), while guiding other engineers. - Production experience building with **LLMs** (agentic systems, tool calling, streaming responses, conversational interfaces). - Proven track record driving projects **0 → production** with minimal oversight, owning product and technical decisions. - Backend experience (**Go preferred**) and familiarity with **crypto, trading, or financial products** are a plus. - Strong drive to improve productivity and code quality using the latest **AI-driven coding** best practices. --- ### Pay (US) - **Annual base salary range (excluding equity/bonus): $218,025 – $256,500 USD** - Total compensation may include **equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits** (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)). --- ### Notes - **Position ID:** P79042 - **Application limit:** Maximum of **3 applications within a 6-month period**. - Coinbase is an **Equal Opportunity Employer**. - **Accommodations:** If you need a reasonable accommodation, email **accommodations[at]coinbase.com**.
