## Database Administrator - DB2 ### Overview Peraton is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented **DB2 Database Administrator** to support, maintain, and enhance database environments across business applications and platforms. **Work Location:** Remote ### Responsibilities - Perform **DB2 database administration, maintenance, and production support** across various business applications - **Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain** DB2 database software in **AIX and UNIX** environments - Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and execute **SQL, DDL, and DML** scripts for moderately complex needs - Create and maintain database objects, including **tables, constraints, triggers, views, stored procedures, functions, packages**, and more - Read, troubleshoot, modify, and test **UNIX shell scripts** supporting database operations - Develop and maintain **database deployment scripts** for changes across development, testing, and production - Coordinate with application development, technical support, configuration management, and database operations teams to implement database changes - Provide ongoing production support, troubleshooting, and help ensure **availability, stability, and reliability** ### Qualifications **Basic Qualifications** - **U.S. Citizenship** required; ability to obtain and maintain required **Public Trust** clearance - Willingness to undergo a **pre-employment credit check** (as required) - Experience requirements (one of the following): - **Bachelor’s + 8 years** - **Associate’s + 10 years** - **Master’s + 6 years** - **High School Diploma/equivalent + 12 years** - Experience administering and supporting **IBM DB2** environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting - Working knowledge of **SQL** (ability to write/execute **DDL/DML** and SQL statements) - Experience creating/modifying/maintaining database objects (tables, constraints, views, indexes, triggers, stored procedures, etc.) - Basic understanding of database development concepts and **SQL/PL/SQL** - Working knowledge of **UNIX or AIX** (ability to read/troubleshoot/modify/test shell scripts) **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience supporting databases in **AIX/UNIX** environments - Experience writing and maintaining **SQL and PL/SQL** scripts - Experience with **performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting** - Familiarity with **database/change/release management** and deployment processes across environments - Experience supporting **production enterprise databases** - Knowledge of **backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery** - Experience working with application development teams - Familiarity with enterprise operational procedures, change controls, and risk management ### Salary Range **$104,000 - $166,000** (typical range).
