Verkada has 2M+ devices deployed across 170+ countries. ## About the Role Join the **Cloud Infrastructure High Availability** team. You’ll help design, build, and maintain tooling to ensure Verkada operates reliably at global scale. Example projects include automated stability risk detection, AI outage investigation, deployment tooling, load testing, and incident management. This role requires being **onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA**. ## What You’ll Do - Design, develop, test, and deploy software to improve Verkada’s backend reliability - Collaborate with other engineering teams to understand infrastructure needs and deliver robust solutions - Contribute to the architecture and design of new and existing cloud services - Make data-driven decisions using past outages and pain points ## What You Bring - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science (or similar technical field) - 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or backend systems - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Experience with **Python and/or Go** - Experience with a major cloud platform (preferably **AWS**) - Strong written and verbal communication - Preferred: **Terraform**, **Kubernetes**, **service mesh** (e.g., Istio), and **observability** tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry) - Preferred: contributing to open source projects ## US Employee Benefits (Highlights) - Healthcare programs (premiums covered for employees under at least one plan; family premiums covered under all plans) - Nationwide medical, vision, and dental coverage - 401(k) matching starting January 2027 (match vests on 2-year anniversary) - HSA employer contributions and FSA options - Expanded mental health support - Paid parental leave and fertility benefits - Paid holidays, firmwide extended holidays, flexible PTO, and personal sick time - Professional development stipend - Wellness/fitness benefits, healthy lunches daily, and commuter benefits ## Additional Information - Verkada sponsors and takes over sponsorship of employment visas for this role (if offered, they’ll make reasonable efforts to obtain a visa). ## Estimated Annual Pay Range **$180,000 – $260,000 USD (OTE)** ## Equal Opportunity Employer Verkada is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing employment opportunities to all individuals without regard to protected characteristics.
