**Director of Product Management, Platforms — GitLab (SaaS Platforms)** GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps—helping organizations increase developer productivity, improve operational efficiency, reduce security/compliance risk, and accelerate digital transformation. ## Role Overview As **Director of Product, SaaS Platforms**, you’ll own the product direction and business outcomes for GitLab’s **SaaS environments**: - **GitLab.com** (multi-tenant) - **GitLab Dedicated** (single-tenant) You’ll connect **reliability, scalability, and operability** with the commercial decisions that make these platforms sustainable businesses. This director-level role starts as an **individual contributor** and is **remote** for candidates in the **United States or Canada**. ## What You’ll Do - Set **product strategy and roadmap** across **GitLab.com** and **GitLab Dedicated**, linking platform capabilities to customer and business outcomes. - Drive improvements in **platform reliability, scalability, and operability**, including better separation between customers and expansion of GitLab.com’s **cell-based architecture**. - Define **rate limits**, **usage limits**, and the related **monetization** approach for GitLab.com. - Scale **GitLab Dedicated** through **maintenance-window automation** and other operational improvements—while controlling costs and improving **gross margin**. - Expand **customer self-service** via **Switchboard** so customers can monitor, observe, and operate their Dedicated tenants. - Guide capabilities such as **customer-initiated disaster recovery** and **geographic redundancy**, and enable earlier access to **beta features** on GitLab Dedicated. - Reduce the delay between **GitLab releases** and their availability on **Dedicated**. - Own the **business side** of the portfolio and the **technical product direction**, including **P&L ownership** for both platforms and helping establish **GitLab.com** as a **P&L business**. ## What You’ll Bring - Experience leading a **product portfolio** at the **director level** (or comparable scope), setting direction across multiple related products. - Technical product experience with **cloud platforms**, **infrastructure**, or **SaaS environments**, including tradeoffs across reliability, scalability, and operations. - Ability to connect product decisions to **commercial outcomes** (monetization, operating costs, gross margin). - Experience translating complex platform challenges into **product priorities** and delivering across teams. - Ability to lead through product direction and influence in a **director-level individual contributor** role. *Direct P&L ownership experience is especially valuable. Experience in an organization actively adopting **AI** is a plus.* ## About the Team The SaaS platform portfolio brings together **GitLab.com** and **GitLab Dedicated**—spanning shared-platform growth, single-tenant operations, and the tools customers use to manage their environments.
