You’ll build the experiences and systems that shape **acquisition, activation, and long-term customer engagement**. The team works on products tied closely to core company outcomes—**net funded accounts, net deposits, and Gold subscribers**—where strong execution translates quickly into visible business impact. As a **Senior Backend Engineer on Growth**, you’ll be expected to operate with **outsized ownership and impact**. You’ll lead high-leverage projects while strengthening the systems, patterns, and technical foundations that help the broader organization move faster and more effectively. You’ll partner closely with **product, design, data, and peer engineering** to build reliable backend services, unlock high-impact customer experiences, and raise the scale at which Robinhood can move. --- ## What you’ll do - Design, build, and evolve backend services and APIs that power **Robinhood Gold** experiences and growth journeys - Own projects end to end—from technical design through launch, measurement, and iteration - Partner with product, design, data, and peer engineering to translate ambiguous opportunities into scalable systems - Improve **service reliability, performance, observability, and developer velocity** for product-facing backend systems - Help shape architecture and technical direction for systems supporting **subscription experiences, member benefits, and engagement flows** - Use metrics and sound engineering judgment to make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, quality, and long-term maintainability - Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, debugging, and hands-on collaboration - Raise the engineering bar by driving high standards in system design, execution, and operational excellence --- ## What you bring - **6+ years** of software engineering experience, with a strong track record building and operating backend systems in production - Strong proficiency designing **distributed systems, APIs, and data models** for reliability and scale - Experience leading **medium-to-large** technical projects with multiple stakeholders and clear business impact - Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-moving product environments and turn open-ended problems into pragmatic execution plans - Strong product sense and willingness to engage deeply with customer experience, experimentation, and business outcomes - High ownership mindset; ability to independently drive work from concept to production - Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering and cross-functional partners - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent practical experience --- ## What we offer - Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career - Performance-driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, plus bonus programs, equity ownership, and **401(k) matching** - Best-in-class benefits, including **100% paid health insurance** for employees and **90% coverage** for dependents - Lifestyle wallet (flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more) - Empl
