**Position Summary** The Web Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining accessible, responsive, and user-centered digital experiences across the institution’s web properties. This role supports the Web Development team by ensuring websites align with institutional branding, usability standards, technical requirements, and accessibility regulations, including **WCAG 2.2**. You will collaborate with web developers, content editors, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to continuously improve website functionality, performance, and user experience while advancing the institution’s digital strategy and mission. This position reports to the **Director of Web Development**. **Duties (may include)** - Develop responsive, accessible web pages, microsites, and email templates for diverse audiences. - Collaborate with the Stony Brook Medicine Web Team and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional, aesthetic, and accessibility standards. - Implement and maintain **WCAG 2.2-compliant** design and development practices. - Conduct accessibility audits and remediation using tools such as **axe**, **WAVE**, or **Lighthouse**. - Maintain brand consistency and adhere to messaging guidelines from Marketing and Communications. - Manage and update web content using CMS platforms (e.g., **Drupal**, **Craft**, **WordPress**) while ensuring accuracy and accessibility. - Troubleshoot and resolve web-related issues submitted via the helpdesk ticketing system. - Stay current with front-end development trends, accessibility standards, and emerging technologies. - Participate in usability testing and user feedback sessions to improve site performance and accessibility.
