**Full Stack Engineer, Applied AI** ## About the Team DoorDash’s mission is to empower local economies. As a Full Stack Engineer on our Applied AI team, you’ll build the products that bring AI agents to life—from the interfaces customers, merchants, and Dashers use, to the backend services and infrastructure that power them at global scale. We have an applied AI lab at DoorDash: a small, highly motivated team focused on engineering excellence. We operate with a flat structure—everyone is expected to be hands-on and contribute directly to the mission. Initiative and consistent delivery are how people grow and lead here. ## About the Role You’ll work directly with our cofounder and own major pieces of how AI shows up in DoorDash’s products. You’ll build complete product experiences end-to-end, including: - Web and mobile frontends - APIs - Backend services - Data pipelines You’ll partner closely with researchers to take prototypes to production, build internal tools that speed up iteration, and design systems that hold up under real-world traffic. This is hands-on work with immediate product impact at real-world scale. ## You’ll be excited because you will… - Work directly with leadership and see your work shipped to millions of users. - Move fast without bureaucracy—rapid iteration, high autonomy, and no layers of politics. - Own features across the entire stack (UI to infrastructure), not a narrow slice. - Work with global data scale, robust compute, and an AI-ready platform. - Shape how AI transforms commerce with intelligent, adaptive experiences for Consumers, Merchants, and Dashers. ## We’re excited about you because you have… - Strong full stack engineering experience, with depth in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript) and backend development (e.g., Python, Go, Kotlin, or Java). - Experience designing and shipping production systems (APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure) with a focus on reliability and performance. - A track record of shipping user-facing products quickly and iterating based on real usage. - Interest in AI and familiarity with integrating LLMs or AI APIs into products (prior agent/ML experience is a plus, not required). - A builder mindset: you’re energized by experimentation, move quickly, and stay close to the work. - Strong cross-functional instincts and the ability to bridge product, design, and research. ## Compensation & Benefits (Summary) - Starting pay falls within the role’s market-dependent range, localized by work location. - National base pay range (US, including IL and CO): **$203,500 — $299,300 USD** - Equity grants may be included. - Comprehensive benefits for regular employees (e.g., 401(k) with employer matching, paid parental leave, wellness benefits, paid time off and paid sick leave, medical/dental/vision, paid holidays, disability/basic life insurance, and more). ## About DoorDash DoorDash’s mission to empower local economies shapes how teams move quickly, learn, and iterate to make impactful decisions with empathy for users—from Dashers to merchant partners to consumers.
