**Radicle Health — Application Security Engineer (Contractor)** **About the Job** Radicle Health is a collection of human services software products built to foster collaboration and innovation—helping organizations better serve their communities. This role is hands-on and technical: you’ll architect application security tooling and integrate security into the software development process across Radicle Health’s **10 SaaS platforms**. *This is a **12-month contract** role with potential to hire.* **Who you are** - **3–5 years** of scripting and development experience, preferably supporting web applications - **2–3 years** of cloud engineering experience, preferably using **Infrastructure as Code** (emphasis on **AWS**) - Familiarity with **Claude AI** and other AI tools; experience leveraging **agentic AI** for automation - **NIST** and **HIPAA** experience is a plus - Strong judgment in assessing and prioritizing technical risk - Knowledge of security best practices/standards such as **OWASP**, **OWASP ASVS**, **S-SDLC**, and **BSIMM** - Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex security issues to technical and non-technical collaborators with an inclusive mindset - Ability to identify and remove bottlenecks for teammates (process and technology) - Familiarity with a wide variety of security tools, technologies, and methodologies **In this role, you will** - Support initiatives/projects to enhance security in application development processes - Bring ideas forward to optimize security tooling and explore technologies to improve security posture and scalability - Conduct **internal penetration testing** and **code reviews** - Create, update, and maintain **threat models** across software projects - Leverage **AI** to automate workflows and build efficiencies - Partner with developers to advise on secure coding, support vulnerability remediation, establish proactive security posture, and drive continual process improvement - Analyze source code regularly and support remediation of potential vulnerabilities - Draft stakeholder communications on security project/program status and help obtain leadership support - Support development of security training materials and provide guidance to internal software teams - Support **incident response** **Compensation & Location** - **$62.00/hour** - **Remote** **Important notice** Official communication about opportunities at Radicle Health will only come from an **@radicle-health.com** email address.
