## BitGo — Principal, Accounting Platform **Onsite requirement:** Full-time onsite at our **Palo Alto** office. If you’ve spent your career in **SOX, internal controls, audit, controllership, or financial close**—and you want to **build the systems that fix what you find** (not just test them), this role is for you. ### Why this role exists Every product BitGo ships eventually becomes a number—**balances, fees, statements, journal entries, and regulatory filings**. As a **public company** and a **federally chartered trust bank**, BitGo must prove those numbers are **right every period**, across **products, legal entities, and jurisdictions**. You will own the **product strategy** for the **financial and accounting platform** that makes those numbers right by construction. You’ll turn accounting requirements into **scalable, auditable, self-service platform capabilities** that **product, engineering, finance, and compliance** can build on. Digital assets add complexity (and opportunity): on-chain activity, custody structures, staking, tokenized assets, and settlement each flow differently through the systems—and each must land correctly on the books. The industry is still writing the playbook; you’ll help write it. ### Level Hiring at **Senior or Principal** level (depending on experience). The core scope is the same at both. At **Principal**, you have already set **platform strategy**, led **accounting systems**, or established **control standards** adopted by multiple teams. You will own **cross-product standards** and the working relationship with **finance and audit leadership**, with more independence from day one. ### Two paths to this role There’s more than one way to be great here: - Come from **product management** and build **financial compliance platforms** - Or come from **audit, controllership, or accounting systems**, spending years finding where numbers break—and then building the thing that fixes it If you’re an **auditor or accountant with a builder mindset**, you’ll be evaluated on the same scope.
