**Riot Games — Senior Software Engineer, Services (VALORANT, Player Dynamics)** Riot engineers bring deep knowledge of specific technical areas and also value working across broader domains. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll lead without authority and help other engineers by demonstrating extraordinary engineering. VALORANT is Riot’s character-based tactical shooter. On the **Player Dynamics Team**, you’ll build and operate systems that help keep the game safe for all players by enforcing **fair play** and **communication**. You’ll work with the team to respond to **analytics** and **community feedback** to make VALORANT a positive, fun experience. **Reporting to:** Engineering Manager, Player Dynamics team --- ## Responsibilities - Design, build, and deliver **in-game client features** for a world-class player experience - Collaborate with **producers, game designers, and UX experts** - Own features end-to-end—from **in-game** to **backend service implementation** - Design, build, and deliver **large-scale backend services** supporting **millions of players** - Build and support **live services** (includes an **on-call** commitment) --- ## Required Qualifications - **4+ years** of experience as a software engineer - **BS degree** or equivalent experience - Expertise with **C++, C#, Java, Golang**, or similar languages --- ## Desired Qualifications - Professional experience with **cloud computing** and cloud technologies - Professional experience building **large-scale backend systems** or **game services** - Professional experience building **player- or user-facing frontend** experiences (web, mobile, or game) - Experience with **social systems** in large-scale multiplayer games—especially long-standing, healthy communities - Professional or hobby experience with **Unreal Engine** --- ## Success Profile You’ll find success through **craft expertise**, a **collaborative spirit**, and **player-first decision-making**.
