## Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Full-Stack) ### About Dscout Dscout is building the **human-grounded layer that teaches AI to work in the real world**—and proves it stays aligned there. Our **AI Training & Evals** unit creates human data and evaluations to show whether AI works for real people over time. We’re a new unit inside an established company with a mature platform (**React, Elixir, Python, Swift, Kotlin**) and strong compliance (**SOC 2, HITRUST**). We work AI-native: **agents write code**, **evals gate changes**, and we aim to deliver in months what used to take years. ### Why this seat - Work directly with **AI labs** and **AI product teams** on problems with no playbook yet - Build on a platform that already works—so you focus on the hard part, not plumbing - Own technical decisions and see your builds become a product - Join a small senior team with direct access to leadership - Help deliver **weeks of real-world AI use** captured in context, turned into training/eval-ready data ### Programs you’ll work on - **Long-horizon, real-world use** of AI products captured over days/weeks - **Side-by-side model comparisons** judged by people matching specific profiles - **Human judgment & preference data** delivered in pipeline-ingestible formats - **Feedback loops** connecting real user behavior to model and product decisions ### What you will do **Scope and shape programs** - Turn a fuzzy customer brief into a technical plan with the Project Lead - Decide what to reuse, extend, or build—and prove the gap before writing code - Define what you’ll deliver, how it works, and what could go wrong **Build and ship** - Build capture flows, task logic, data pipelines, and delivery across **web, mobile, and backend** - Ship production code with real participants - Use coding agents and evals as part of how you build (and help others adopt the habit) **Build trust into the data** - Own **redaction, validation, provenance, and clean delivery** - Design quality checks and human-review paths; measure whether they work - Partner with research so shipped data carries evidence it’s high quality **Turn the field into product** - Work with core engineering to move repeat builds into the platform - Translate customer asks into platform improvements and roadmap inputs ### A good first year - Several customer programs scoped and shipped, with you named by the customer - Faster time from signed scope to first data - Multiple custom builds absorbed into the core platform - Project Leads shift from “can we do this?” to “how fast?” ### What you bring - **7+ years** shipping production **full-stack** software - Experience working with technical customers (forward deployed / solutions / early founding engineer) - Hands-on experience building and running **data pipelines** (ingest, clean, redact, deliver) - Experience with **AI coding agents** (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) with real shipped work - Experience building with **LLMs** and understanding evaluation - Comfort reasoning about **non-determinism** and behavior across distributions - Clear writing and ability to explain tradeoffs to researchers and PMs - Based in the **Bay Area** with occasional customer travel **Nice to have** - Human data / labeling / eval pipeline experience - Mobile or browser-based capture - Sensitive or regulated data experience - Founded something ### Compensation & benefits - **$250–400K OTE + Equity** (includes built-in bonus and equity program) - Flexible
