## Atomic Machines — Applied AI Engineer (People) ### About The Role Atomic Machines is building the **Matter Compiler™**, an AI-native, all-digital manufacturing system that builds working machines directly from code. Their first product, **PrimeSwitch™**, is an electromechanical power relay that opens in **50 microseconds**. This role reports to the **Head of Strategic Growth** and can be **full-time or contract**. You’ll be the first engineer embedded in the **People** team—building AI-powered agents and automations that scale employee lifecycle workflows, improve People Operations, and leave the team more capable than you found it. ### What You’ll Do - **Build agents and automations**: Ship workflows across recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and People Operations. - **Shape the People tech stack**: Connect **Greenhouse, Metaview, Justworks, Slack, and Google Workspace**; define how People data flows. - **Own People metrics and dashboards**: Create trusted views of hiring pipeline, time to fill, recruiter capacity, headcount, and org health. - **Find redundancy**: Map how the team works, identify repeated manual steps/tool overlap, and fix them. - **Support fast-scaling recruiting**: Maintain quality and candidate experience while handling high role volume. - **Teach AI fluency**: Run hands-on sessions, write playbooks, and build templates so non-technical teammates can use Claude/ChatGPT/agents confidently. - **Keep exploring**: Test new AI tools and practices; bring forward what’s actually useful. - **Handle data responsibly**: Treat employee and candidate data with care and confidentiality. ### What You Bring - Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering**, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience). - **1–2 years** experience (including internships/projects) building **AI agents** or **LLM-powered workflows** that scale. - Strong proficiency with **Claude Code**; comfort with **Python, SQL, and APIs**. - Experience building dashboards/reporting from messy data. - Track record of building **efficient, repeatable practices** (not one-off scripts). - Ability to explain technical ideas in plain language and teach non-engineers. - Curiosity about team workflows (e.g., asking “why do we do it this way?”). - Good judgment around **privacy** and sensitive information. ### Nice to Have - Familiarity with **Claude + ChatGPT ecosystems** (e.g., MCP connectors, custom GPTs/Projects). - Experience with workflow tools or BI platforms. - Interest in people operations, talent, or organizational design. ### Why Join - Build agents that reach every team with real ownership from day one. - Help shape how a fast-growing deep-tech company hires and supports its people. - Experiment with the newest AI tools and see impact quickly. ### Compensation - **$110,000 — $150,000 USD** (plus equity and benefits) ### Equal Opportunity Atomic Machines is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive interview experience.
