**Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Relevance** **About the Role** Join Airbnb's Relevance and Personalization team, responsible for search and recommendation across the entire platform. Lead critical projects developing end-to-end ranking algorithms and ecosystems optimizing multiple business objectives. **What You'll Do** • Build cutting-edge AI technologies across the search ranking product stack (data pipelines, feature/model innovations, serving, experimentation) • Work with large-scale structured and unstructured data to develop and improve ML models • Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists • Develop, productionize, and operate ML models and pipelines at scale (batch and real-time) • Leverage ML tools and infrastructure to build reusable, high-performing systems • Example projects: feature platform, model interpretability, hyperparameter optimization, concept drift detection **Required Experience** • 5+ years in applied Machine Learning (MS or PhD in relevant field preferred) • Strong programming skills (Scala, Python, Java, C++, or equivalent) • Deep understanding of ML best practices and algorithms (neural networks, deep learning, optimization) • Experience with 3+ of: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, data warehouse tools • End-to-end ML infrastructure and productionization experience • Familiarity with A/B testing, test-driven development, and incremental deployment **Location & Compensation** 🌍 US Remote Eligible (must reside in state where Airbnb has registered entity) 💰 $200,000 – $235,000 USD base pay **Benefits** Bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits eligible **Airbnb's Commitment** Airbnb is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to diversity and belonging.
