## Staff Software Engineer — Messaging Experience At Braze, we’re a genuinely approachable, exceptionally kind, and intensely passionate team. We’re looking for a **Staff Engineer** for our **Messaging Experience** team to help build, maintain, and evolve **Canvas**, our flagship product. ### What you’ll do - **Shape the technical vision and quality bar** for the division: drive architectural direction, define best practices, and help teams resolve persistent quality and technical debt issues. - **Lead large, ambiguous projects end-to-end**: drive work across multiple teams from problem framing and design docs through implementation, rollout, and operational support. - **Support maturing channels**: help teams evolve their stacks for more sophisticated marketing use cases, ensuring foundational primitives are flexible and robust. - **Mentor engineers at every level**: simplify hard problems, connect technical decisions to business outcomes, and raise the bar through code review, architecture review, and pairing. - **Champion reliability and operability**: improve observability and tighten error handling across the dashboard and delivery layers. ### About the role You’ll bridge the gap between the **customer-facing dashboard** and the underlying **orchestration engines** that power delivery. You’ll split your time between division-wide technical leadership and hands-on work for critical projects, partnering with engineering managers and technical leads to ensure our architecture supports a maturing suite of channels—while collaborating with senior leadership to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience across the division.
