Striveworks builds trusted AI systems that perform in real-world use—monitoring performance, managing drift, and sustaining models long after they leave the lab. As a **Staff Machine Learning Engineer (Team Lead)**, you’ll be both a core contributor and a customer-facing technical leader. You’ll help design, build, and deliver systems—from data shaping and analytics to end-user delivery—turning hard customer and engineering problems into production solutions. ## What You’ll Build - Systems that provide assurance underneath deployed models (performance monitoring, drift management, long-term sustainability) - End-to-end delivery: from data shaping and analytics through customer-facing execution - Work that includes direct customer input (including field engagement) ## What It’s Like Here - Trust-first culture - Respectful collaboration with consistent, constructive candor - Ownership mindset and pride in collective results ## What We’re Looking For - Advanced degree in data science/ML/CS (or related) **and 10+ years** relevant experience - Proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor cross-functional engineering teams (office, remote, and customer environments) - Experience defining, scoping, planning, and driving execution for complex production technical solutions - Strong communication skills translating complex technical topics clearly to internal and external stakeholders - Broad ML programming proficiency: **excellent Python** and at least one systems programming language - Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, production analytics, and cloud design patterns - Expertise building/training/evaluating and/or optimizing ML models - Proficiency with modern software engineering tools and processes - **Active Secret (or above) US security clearance** and **US citizenship** ### Nice to Have (Not Required) - Experience with **K8s** and horizontally scaled architectures - Knowledge of **NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ**, or similar - Experience building **AI agents and workflows** - Experience with complex and varied data types - Experience delivering solutions in secure government environments ## Location & Travel - Remote or hybrid out of **Austin, Texas** - Travel up to **25%** ## Compensation - Anticipated base pay range: **$210,000–$260,000/year** - Total compensation includes base salary, **equity grants**, and **cash bonuses** ## Benefits Include - Medical/dental/vision insurance - Voluntary life, long-term disability, accident, and hospital indemnity insurance - HSA and FSA (including dependent care FSA) - 401(k) plan - Unlimited PTO - Paid parental leave ## Equal Opportunity Striveworks is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on protected characteristics.
