## Meta — Security Engineer (Senior / Staff) **Location:** ONSITE (Bellevue, Menlo Park, New York, Washington DC) • **Staff role also REMOTE (US)** **Employment:** Full-time ### About the role Meta’s Central Security team is hiring Security Engineers at two levels (same team, same work): - **Senior (IC5)** - **Staff (IC6)** You’ll help find weaknesses before attackers do, and build solutions that eliminate them. You’ll be a go-to expert for **AI security** and **native-code security guidance**, supporting a constant stream of new products, internal security/privacy initiatives, threat assessment and response, and security assessments focused on **mobile platform and application code**. ### What you’ll do - Provide security guidance to engineering and product teams - Support AI security and native-code security initiatives - Assess and respond to internet threats - Conduct security assessments, specializing in mobile platform/application code ### What we’re looking for - **B.S./M.S. in CS** (or equivalent experience) - **IC5 (Senior):** 6+ years in security engineering (e.g., vuln research, pentesting, or assessments of production systems) - **IC6 (Staff):** 8+ years in security engineering - **4+ years** reviewing **C/C++** with secure coding practices - Programming experience in **Python/C++** (or similar) - Security architecture and **least-privilege** experience for internet-facing products ### Nice to have - iOS/Android security model experience - VM escapes - Exploitation / reverse engineering / CTF - Static analysis and fuzzing - Rust / Obj-C / Java/Kotlin - Community contributions (research, talks, bug bounty) - Experience using AI tools to improve security workflows
