## Platform Engineer ### About Flux Flux is building the world’s first **AI Hardware Engineer**—helping anyone go from an idea to a manufacturable board using only a natural language prompt. Founded in 2019, Flux is backed by investors including 8VC, Bain Capital Ventures, Liquid 2 Ventures, Outsiders Fund, and GitHub founder Tom Preston-Werner. ### The Role As a **Platform Engineer**, you’ll work on the full-stack systems that power Flux’s platform experience beyond the editor—covering **billing, authentication, onboarding, and integrations**. You’ll ship production features that touch every user, keep core flows reliable, and help Flux scale. ### What You’ll Do - Build and maintain **user-facing platform features** (billing, auth, onboarding, settings) - Integrate and maintain **third-party APIs** (e.g., Stripe, Firebase, analytics) - Write **TypeScript/Node backend services** and **React frontend components** - Improve **reliability and performance** of core platform flows - Implement **observability, logging, and error-tracking** standards - Collaborate across teams to design **APIs** for new products and integrations - Document **architecture and best practices** for your domain ### What You’ll Bring - **5+ years** of professional software engineering experience - Strong proficiency in **TypeScript, Node.js, and React** - Experience integrating and maintaining **3rd-party APIs** - Proven track record shipping **production full-stack web apps** - Familiarity with **cloud hosting** (GCP/AWS/Firebase) and **CI/CD** basics - Strong debugging and cross-system troubleshooting skills - Excellent written and verbal communication; thrives in **async, remote teams** ### Preferred Qualifications - Experience with **multi-tenant SaaS** or collaborative web platforms - Familiarity with auth frameworks (**OAuth, JWT, Firebase Auth**) - Exposure to observability stacks (**Sentry, Datadog, Grafana**) - Experience building **internal tools** or **admin dashboards** - Startup or **0 → 1** product-building experience ### What Flux Values - **Impact-oriented**: you don’t feel done until real users benefit - **Ambiguity-native**: you thrive in evolving constraints and shifting ideas - **Collaborative**: share ideas early, welcome debate, build together - **Convention-averse**: experiment and reimagine how you work - **Ownership mentality**: self-starter with a bias toward action ### Equal Opportunity Flux is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on protected characteristics.
