## Software Engineer, Product (Full Stack) ### About the role Come build the rails of B2B commerce in hospitality—starting with hotels. You’re excited by early-stage product work, wearing multiple hats, and turning a spark of an idea into something real. Even when plans change, you’re motivated by the process of building from nothing. You care about delivering software with tangible value—sometimes even if the solution is simple or “unsexy.” You’re strong at prioritization and time management, can adapt quickly as new facts emerge, and make thoughtful tradeoffs between customer and business needs. You focus on quality, distill complex systems, and build delightful yet powerful applications. ### What excites you - Experience working on early-stage teams (possibly even as a founder) - Ability to ship and iterate from an initial idea - Strong prioritization and adaptability - Quality-focused engineering and clear system thinking ### What excites us (requirements) - **8+ years** of hands-on experience as a senior contributor on teams that ship great products - Full-stack generalist with experience across: - **Ruby on Rails / Hotwire** - **TypeScript / React / Node.js** - **Postgres** - Strong experience building responsive, intuitive UIs and transitioning between frontend and backend work - Solid object-oriented design and programming skills, including architecting solutions for complex, data-intensive systems - Experience building software that enables money movement and digitizes historically paper-based processes - Interest in giving back via **Open Source** or other pro-bono contributions ### Working at Folio - Folio is a **Ruby on Rails** app with **TypeScript/Node.js automations** deployed to **AWS** - Daily standup (except Friday); meetings are otherwise kept to a minimum - **Remote-first** company: quarterly in-person travel to work together and stay with one of our hotel partners - Tools: **Google Meet, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Slack** ### What we value - **Craft**: pride in execution and building at a steady, resilient pace - **Optimism**: belief in each other and what’s possible with hustle and grit - **Ownership**: shared responsibility for what we build - **Hospitality**: service-oriented culture reflected in how we work together
