Software Engineer Infrastructure
Sodalis, Inc. · Palo Alto
About this role
## Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Hybrid) — Palo Alto **Compensation:** $185K–$215K base + meaningful early-stage equity + full benefits ### About Sodalis Sodalis Specialty Pharmacy is where complex, high-cost drugs reach patients—yet the workflow still relies on faxes, phone tag, and manual data entry. Sodalis is building **AI agents** to run these operations end to end: reading and validating prescriptions, handling phone calls, and moving prescriptions through eligibility and fulfillment. Sodalis is already in production, processing **tens of thousands of prescriptions per week**, backed by **Gradient Ventures** (Google’s AI fund). ### The Opportunity Today, Sodalis runs cloud-based systems and integrates with pharmacy management systems. However, much of the specialty pharmacy market is **on-prem**. To expand, the team must enable Sodalis to run **inside pharmacy environments**—either full on-site or a hybrid split with Sodalis cloud. This role owns the challenge of: - Designing how the architecture is **packaged and deployed** into environments Sodalis doesn’t control - Determining what must change in current infrastructure to support those deployments - Providing **maintenance and observability** for remote installs (upgrades, rollbacks, health/failures) You’ll start by building against a **real committed customer deployment**, using the AI pharmacy tech product as the foundation. ### What You’ll Do - Decide how Sodalis runs in a pharmacy environment (full stack on-site, hybrid split, or in-between) - Adapt infrastructure and build the **packaging + deployment** path for installs/updates - Own deployments over time: **upgrades, rollbacks, observability**, and recovery - Work with pharmacy IT teams to understand constraints and design for the full range - Partner with founders and the early engineering team on architecture ### What We’re Looking For - **5+ years** in infrastructure or platform engineering - Experience taking an **AWS-native stack** and running it on **Kubernetes (or similar)** in environments you don’t operate, including **stateful services** - Experience shipping/maintaining software in **customer-controlled environments** (on-prem, customer-hosted, edge, embedded) - Ability to keep a fleet of remote installs **updated, observable, and recoverable** without direct access - Comfort setting early patterns in a startup with **high ambiguity** - Ability to work directly with IT teams and understand constraints firsthand *No healthcare background required.* ### How We Work Small team, high bar, and shipping work that reaches real patients. **Application note:** Please mention the word **COMMITMENT** and tag **RMmEwNjo5OGMwOjM2MDA6OjEwMw==** when applying.
