Product Engineer, Data Center Automation
Fluidstack · New York, NY
About this role
## About Fluidstack We exist to make humanity more free. We’re building civilization-scale AI compute infrastructure—acquiring power, designing and operating data centers, and delivering **10 to 100s of GW** of compute faster than anyone else by rethinking every layer of the stack. ## How We Operate - **Be a barrel:** Full autonomy. Own things end to end. - **Insane urgency:** Move fast and push the frontier. - **Reason from first principles:** Challenge assumptions; best idea wins. - **Love of the game:** Long hours, high intensity. - **Build something that actually matters:** Work that improves the world. ## The Decision Team (What You’ll Help Solve) - **Automate gigawatts delivery:** Turn schedules, decisions, and tasks into software driven by a live knowledge graph. - **Forward-deploy beside experts:** Convert on-site judgment into systems that reach every unit. - **Deliver every supercomputer faster:** Learn once, prevent issues everywhere. ## Role Scope You’ll help build the systems that run and scale the fleet, including: - **Fleet health system:** Real-time telemetry + tiered health checks across **Kubernetes and bare metal**, exposed via a trusted API (“is this machine healthy?”). Correlate alarms into incidents with drafted probable causes. - **Repair & RMA as generated work:** End-to-end tracked flow from failure detection → triage → parts/vendor return → return to service. Route to repair automatically and generate each engineer’s shift todo list. - **Hardware qualification as software:** Burn-in, performance baselining, and validation composed into rack-level workflows with acceptance evidence attached. - **Facility operations on the same system as the fleet:** Roll out maintenance workflows (e.g., lockout/tagout, work orders), migrate asset registers, and retire legacy inventory tools. - **Runbooks as checked procedures:** Convert SOPs, training records, and technician qualifications into structured, auditable data; report site SLOs, deployment cycle time, and labor ramp. ## What We’re Looking For - Shipped production code in **Go, Python, or TypeScript** (and can pick up the right language). - Built real features on **LLM APIs** (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-weight), **MCP servers**, and agentic frameworks. - Works daily with AI coding tools like **Claude Code** and **Cursor**, and can deploy agents that do useful work autonomously. - Identifies problems, designs solutions, and ships without waiting for approval. - Moves fast under deadlines while leaving foundations others can extend. - Has on-call experience (or worked closely with on-call) and turns operational pain into systems. - Strong product taste: interfaces and workflows that match how the work actually happens. ### Bonus - Production engineering / SRE on large **GPU fleets** - Hardware qualification / burn-in frameworks - **BMC, Redfish, IPMI** tooling - **CMMS, DCIM, asset management** - **BMS/EPMS, SCADA** - **Prometheus, Grafana** ## Benefits - Competitive total compensation (**cash + equity**) - Health, dental, vision insurance - Retirement plan - Generous PTO ## Equal Opportunity Fluidstack is an **Equal Employment Opportunity Employer**. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to protected characteristics. ## Apply https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/fluidstack/05c2e69c-42f9-4fcb-9cf0-a467aaf98f1c
