About this role
**Qualification Engineer — Fluidstack Labs** ## About Fluidstack Fluidstack exists to make humanity more free. We build and operate civilization-scale AI compute infrastructure—acquiring power, designing and building data centers, and delivering 10 to 100s of GW of compute faster than anyone else. ## How We Operate - **Be a barrel:** full autonomy, own scope end-to-end, no permission required to operate outside your core role. - **Insane urgency:** move fast and push the frontier forward. - **Reason from first principles:** challenge assumptions; the best idea wins. - **Love of the game:** long hours at high intensity. - **Build something that actually matters:** focus on real-world impact. ## What the Labs Team Works On - **Qualify frontier hardware** (accelerators, switches, storage, liquid cooling) before it runs anywhere else—turning first samples into production-ready platforms with runbooks. - **Compress silicon-to-production** from vendor sample to customer-ready gigawatt infrastructure in weeks. - **Run the lab like a production site:** provisioning, telemetry, demand management, and liquid cooling mirror production architecture. - **Prove the power envelope:** validate detection-to-shutdown safety chains for dynamic demand management. ## Role Scope You will help bring up and qualify first-sample accelerator and infrastructure platforms end-to-end, including: - **Accelerator platform bring-up:** rack integration, liquid cooling commissioning, firmware baseline, network connectivity, and software validation at **120 kW+** densities. - **Network platform validation:** Broadcom Tomahawk, Broadcom Jericho, and NVIDIA Spectrum; drive Keysight Ixia traffic generation for RFC 2544/2889 benchmarking, line-rate stress, and protocol correctness. - **Optical layer verification:** EXFO testing for BER characterization and power budget analysis. - **Liquid cooling qualification:** CDUs across nVent, CoolIT, and Vertiv—commissioning, BMS telemetry integration, leak detection, coolant chemistry verification, and runbook creation. - **Power oversubscription response chain testing:** graceful/forced shutdown, power-cap and p-state controls via BMC, ATS transfer scenarios, breaker-trip detection, rPDU commissioning with outlet telemetry, and repeatable power-stress harnesses. - **Qualification matrices & partner co-development:** evaluate converged local-NVMe storage platforms (Weka, Hammerspace, VAST Data) and convert results into production runbooks. ## What We’re Looking For - You’ve **brought up servers/accelerators/switches from first power-on** (racking, cabling, firmware, first boot, and troubleshooting). - You **script test harnesses and automation** for repeatable results and compounding throughput. - You’re deep in **Linux** and manage hardware at the **BMC level** (IPMI, Redfish, sensor telemetry, power/boot control via command line). - You **document methodically**—producing test reports and runbooks others can execute without you. - You’ve worked hands-on with **liquid-cooled, high-power hardware** and treat safety procedures as part of the craft. - You can **debug across hardware, firmware, and software** without waiting for others to isolate faults. **Bonus (nice to have):** RDMA/RoCEv2 fabrics, optics testing depth, Kubernetes-based provisioning stacks, power/electrical instrumentation experience. ## Equal Opportunity Fluidstack is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration
