Product Engineer, Infrastructure Development & Delivery
Fluidstack · San Francisco, CA
About this role
## About Fluidstack We exist to make humanity more free. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice—but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it. Fluidstack is focused on delivering **10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else**, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them—bringing together teams spanning hardware and software. ## How We Operate - **Be a barrel:** Full autonomy. Own things end to end; take on scope without being asked. - **Insane urgency:** Drive everything forward as fast as possible. - **Reason from first principles:** Challenge assumptions; no ego—best idea wins. - **Love of the game:** Long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward. - **Build something that actually matters:** Spend your time on work that matters to the world. ## The Decision Team (Examples of Key Problems) - **Automate the delivery of gigawatts:** Turn every step from land to live compute into software (schedules, decisions, and tasks generated from a live knowledge graph). - **Forward-deploy beside the experts:** Turn field judgment into systems that reach every unit. - **Deliver every supercomputer faster than the last:** Feed lessons learned at one site into preventive checks across many concurrent projects. ## Role Scope - **Build the schedule that runs the portfolio:** Template schedules per building type, instantiated per project, with activities tied to consumed materials so need-by dates fall out of the critical path (not spreadsheets). - **Turn the site into structured data:** Capture work packages, contractor entries, rack placements, cable runs, and QA inspections as records tied to design revisions; compute percent complete from evidence. - **Ship change orders as a workflow:** Draft scope/cost/schedule impact from design deltas, route through legal/finance/general contractor with an approval trail, and update bill of materials + schedule immediately. - **Make the design the source of truth:** Ingest BIM models into the bill of materials with reviewable diffs; generate submittal requirements per spec section; keep sites/buildings/data halls as one canonical record. - **Ship commissioning as software:** Generate test procedures per asset from design revisions; land results as evidence against the tested asset; energization gates that check themselves; handover based on proof. ## What We’re Looking For - Shipped production code in **Go, Python, or TypeScript** (and pick up other languages as needed). - Built real features on **LLM APIs** (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-weight), **MCP servers**, and **agentic frameworks**. - Work daily with AI coding tools like **Claude Code** and **Cursor**, and get agents doing useful work autonomously. - Identify problems, design solutions, and ship without waiting for direction. - Move fast under deadlines while leaving strong foundations others extend. - Earn credibility with people who build physical things (construction leads, field engineers, schedulers, commissioning agents) and drive adoption in real timelines. - Product taste: interfaces field crews find obvious; workflows that match how work actually happens. ### Bonus - Construction tech / project controls (P6, schedule engines, critical path) - **BIM/IFC/Revit** data models - Commissioning, **BMS/EPMS**, or controls
