About this role

**Network Engineer, Design & Engineering** ## About Fluidstack Fluidstack exists to make humanity more free—by building civilization-scale AI compute infrastructure. We design, acquire power, build, and operate data centers, delivering **10 to 100s of GW** of compute faster than anyone else. Speed and scale are our differentiators. ## How We Operate - **Be a barrel:** Full autonomy. Own things end to end. - **Insane urgency:** Move fast and keep momentum. - **Reason from first principles:** Challenge assumptions; the best idea wins. - **Love of the game:** High-intensity focus on frontier problems. - **Build something that matters:** Work that impacts the world. ## The Infrastructure Team (What You’ll Work On) Examples of key problems: - **Design the fabrics** frontier AI trains on: lossless, non-blocking backend networks for **100k+ accelerator** clusters—often ahead of new silicon. - **Multiple fabrics, one system:** frontend, backend, backbone, management, enterprise, and BMS as a single coherent architecture. - **Generate the design, don’t draw it:** produce topologies, addressing, **BGP/ASN schemas**, and **golden configs** from a source-of-truth model—correct by construction. ## Role Scope You’ll own the network design lifecycle from customer requirements through deployable, validated architectures for AI training and inference. **Responsibilities include:** - Produce **topology designs**, **IP/addressing schemes**, **routing policy**, and **fabric configuration specs** across: - Front-end - Back-end (GPU-to-GPU training fabric) - Storage networks - Adapt architectures to different **GPU platforms** (NVIDIA, AMD, custom accelerators), including rack layout, power envelope, and cabling approaches. - Translate logical designs into physical reality: rack elevations, power constraints, structured cabling/fiber budgets, pathway routing, and airflow. - Design **lossless Ethernet fabrics for RDMA (RoCEv2)**: PFC, ECN tuning, traffic classes, congestion management, and reasoning about ECMP + collective-communication patterns. - Produce **HLDs/LLDs**, cutsheets, BOMs, cabling matrices, and design decision records; lead design reviews and reusable reference architectures. ## What We’re Looking For - Designed data center network fabrics from requirements through deployment (not just configuration), with clear tradeoff reasoning. - Deep **L1–L3** expertise: **CLOS/fat-tree**, **BGP**, **EVPN/VXLAN**, and underlying fundamentals. - Experience designing **lossless RDMA (RoCEv2)** fabrics and congestion management at training scale. - Ability to reason from first principles through novel design challenges. - Strong cross-functional partnership (Hardware, DC Operations, ICT, Software, Validation) to ensure designs are buildable and operational. **Bonus:** - Source-of-truth-driven design generation - Multi-vendor GPU platform integration - Large-cluster (**100k+ accelerator**) experience ## Salary & Benefits - Competitive total compensation (**salary + equity**) - Retirement/pension plan (local norms) - Health, dental, and vision insurance - Generous PTO (local norms) - Pay equity and transparency commitment ## Equal Opportunity Fluidstack is an **Equal Employment Opportunity Employer**. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to protected characteristics under applicable law. ## Apply https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/fluidstack/05c2e69c-42f9-4fcb-9cf0-a467aaf98f1c *Privacy / notices:* - Applicant Privacy Notice
