Product Engineer, AI
Fluidstack · San Francisco, CA
About this role
## About Fluidstack We exist to make humanity more free. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice—but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. Fluidstack is singularly focused on delivering **10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else**, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them—spanning hardware and software. --- ## How We Operate - **Be a barrel:** Full autonomy. Own things end to end; take on scope without being asked. - **Insane urgency:** Drive everything forward as fast as possible. - **Reason from first principles:** Challenge assumptions; no egos—the best idea wins. - **Love of the game:** Long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward. - **Build something that actually matters:** Spend your time on work that matters to the world. --- ## The Decision Team (Examples of Key Problems) - **Automate the delivery of gigawatts:** Turn every step from land to live compute into software (schedules, decisions, and tasks generated from a live knowledge graph). - **Forward-deploy beside the experts:** Product teams work with quality managers, sourcing leads, and deployment engineers to turn real-world judgment into systems. - **Deliver every supercomputer faster than the last:** Learn once, prevent issues everywhere via shared graphs and checks. --- ## Role Scope You’ll build software that removes bottlenecks and turns operational reality into structured systems. - **Build the hiring machine as software:** Sync recruiting systems both directions; make interviewer supply/load visible; generate onboarding the moment an offer is signed. - **Build the cash view the company runs on:** Convert purchase orders, contract terms, and build milestones into an order schedule, cash demand curve, and payment schedule that recomputes as procurement/construction moves. - **Build one capital pipeline:** From approved budget → released capital → spent dollars, gated on build milestones with an automated proof chain for financing drawdowns. - **Parse contracts into obligations:** Extract obligations, prices, deadlines, penalties, and SLAs from MSAs, change orders, and side letters. - **Embed with finance/treasury/accounting/legal/people:** Turn approvals, contract terms, screens, reconciliations, and close/drawdown/hiring loops into structured data and generated work (including continuous close eventing). --- ## What We’re Looking For - Shipped production code in **Go, Python, or TypeScript** (and can pick up the language the problem demands). - Built real features on **LLM APIs** (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-weight models), **MCP servers**, and **agentic frameworks**. - Works daily with AI coding tools like **Claude Code** and **Cursor**, and can get agents doing useful work autonomously. - Identifies problems, designs solutions, and ships without waiting for direction. - Moves fast under deadlines while leaving foundations others can extend. - Earns credibility with non-engineering experts (finance, legal, recruiting, auditors) and drives adoption inside real deadlines. - Strong product taste: interfaces/workflows feel obvious and match how people actually work. **Bonus:** ERP & fixed asset accounting; FP&A/cash forecasting/capital planning; structured finance/treasury operations; contract lifecycle systems; ATS/HRIS integrations (Ashby, Greenhouse, Rippling, Workday); LLM extraction over legal/financial documents. --- ## Benefits
