## Senior Software Engineer | Middleware ### Location Remote within the United States (Seattle, WA area preferred but not required). ### Position Summary Join the **Middleware** team as a **Sr. Software Engineer** to help build a **fault-resilient, highly available, customer-centric platform**. You’ll work with the team to deliver a scalable, secure platform and **customer-facing features** that help security and engineering teams **stop threats faster**. You’ll primarily work with **Python, Go (Golang), TypeScript, and React**, with a focus on **security, scalability, stability, and type-first design**. The team builds **public REST APIs**, tackles **database scalability**, implements **data migrations**, and supports **configuration management** across services. The **R(x) 360 Platform** runs on **AWS and GCP**, using **Terraform** for Infrastructure-as-Code. ### Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain services written in **Go and Python** powering ExtraHop products - Lead and participate in **agile development**, **code reviews**, and technical strategy discussions - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members - Act as a technical expert and help foster a culture of excellence and collaborative problem-solving - Proactively address **technical debt** and continuously improve the codebase and stack ### Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Engineering, or related field** - **7+ years** of professional **backend development** experience - Strong knowledge of **Go, Python**, or an equivalent language - Experience with **API development**, **PostgreSQL database design**, and/or **SQL performance optimization** - Experience building and scaling **distributed, highly available systems** - Strong problem-solving skills, self-starter mindset, and a track record of technical ownership - Effective communication and collaboration in fast-paced, agile environments ### Preferred Qualifications - Experience with **Django, FastAPI**, or another Python web framework - Experience with cloud services on **AWS or Azure** (e.g., **EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, EC2, IAM, Lambdas**) ### Compensation & Benefits - Salary range: **$160,000 – $180,000/year** - Eligibility for an annual **performance-based discretionary bonus** and **stock option grants** - Comprehensive benefits: **medical, dental, vision (Day 1)**, **401(k) with match**, **flexible PTO**, **parental leave**, and more ### About ExtraHop ExtraHop is reinventing **Network Detection and Response (NDR)** to provide enterprises unparalleled **visibility, context, and control** against emerging threats—integrating NDR with **Network Performance Management (NPM)**, **IDS**, and forensics. ### Values - **Lead with Purpose** - **Act with Integrity** - **Find a Way** - **Innovate** - **Share Success**
